Recent additions include more school class pictures and other photos in the Woodnorth section, plus some Cameron family photos.
Today I have posted a few pictures of Isabella and Donald Cameron’s grandchildren – in a section after the Cameron Wedding Photos.
Today I have published a section on my great-great Grandparents, on my father’s side, the family of Neil Campbell (1808 or 1812 -1892) and Betsy McKinnon(1824-1909) who came to Canada from the Isle of Mull in Scotland in 1857.
I have recently added some information about the Forsyth family at Boss Hill – Wilfred Forsyth (my Dad)’s recollections and stories about Alexander Forsyth’s family in Scotland and his early days in Canada and at Boss Hill, Manitoba.
Over the last few weeks I have added to the section on the Cameron Family of Berwick-upon-Tweed, completing short biographies of all five children. Only a few items remain to be scanned and inserted. In addition, I have added a number of pictures in the section “Woodnorth, Manitoba” – buildings, a train wreck in 1968, harvest time in 1944, the flood in 1969, an aerial view from 1989, etc.

CAMERON Family of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England – 1840s to 1950sOver the last few days I have added information on Donald Cameron (1878-1941) in the section “Cameron Family of Berwick-on-Tweed”, including scans of the postcard he sent back to England upon his arrival in Canada, his marriage certificate, and pages from the Family Bible listing the births of his children. There are also two additional photos of Isabella Brownlee(s) taken before she left England.
Today, after a summer hiatus of travelling and visiting I have added a piece about Donald Cameron (1878-1941) to the section about the Cameron Family of Berwick-upon-Tweed. If I get a few more items scanned they will be added later.

Today added a section on Great-Aunt Jean Cameron (1876-1962), under “Camerons of Berwick-on-Tweed” and a couple of images in earlier sections.
Below are the wedding photographs of the five children of Donald Duncan Cameron (1878-1941) and Isabella Allan (m.s. Brownlees) Cameron (1874-1958) of Woodnorth, Manitoba.
After the wedding photos are some other family photos from the 1940s and 1950s.

OTHER PHOTOS from the 1940s

Donald Ian Cameron (1912-1998) and Della Ileen Cameron (1912-2000) taken at The Chevron Studio in Victoria British Columbia. I think it operated from 1943-1950. Ian was in the Canadian Navy during World War II and was posted to Victoria for part of his time in the service.

Ian Cameron on a leave from the Navy with his mother Isabella (Brownlees) Cameron (1874-1958) at the farm at Woodnorth.
Below is a post card Ian sent to his mother, dated Sept 20, 1944, of his ship the HMCS Gananoque.

“D.I.Cameron v.40088 HMCS Ganonoque, c/o F.M.O, Halifax, N.S. Sept 20/44 Dear Mother: Sorry I could not get back for harvest, but guess you are getting along as best you can. How is the wheat running this year? Have they got over the summer fallow again? If not it will be in pretty bad shape. How did you get over your trip to Wpg.? As ever, Ian”
